Christopher Irwin Bursk died on June 21, 2021. Born in Cambridge, Massachusetts on April 23, 1943, son of Edward and Catherine Bursk, he lived for the past 50 years in Langhorne, Pennsylvania. In addition to his wife, Mary Ann, he leaves three children, Christian Bursk (Christine Mydlo), Norabeth Wiley (Ron Cosenza) and Justin Bursk (Danielle). Chris received a BA from Tufts University, a MA and PhD from Boston University, and a MFA from Warren Wilson University. In 2021 he was especially proud to receive an AA from Bucks County Community College. He has taught at Bucks since 1971 and organized numerous events to raise money for local Bucks County agencies such as A Woman's Place, The Peace Center, Bucks County Homeless Shelter and NOVA. He was also very proud of the work he did at the Bucks County Prison sharing poetry's ability to heal, survive, and grow.

A recipient of NEA, Guggenheim and Pew Fellowships, Chris is the author of sixteen books of poetry. His last book, With Aeneas in a Time of Plague, will be published in July from Ragged Sky Press. Chris was honored to be a mentor and friend to all in the Bucks County poetry community.
